Types of Arthritis

Arthritis is the inflammation of joints in the body because of various reasons. There is still alot that is not known about this arthritis. It is believed that various things such as infections can cause the disorder , but there still are questions. What types of infections? Why are some people victims and not others? What drugs are the most effective? What can we do to preent tthe disorder? Are certain people canidates for certain types of arthritis? There are many questions surrounding arthritis.
At the present we know of several forms of arthritis . They are rhematoid arthritis, gouty arthritis, and osteoarthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is a form of arthritis that tends to be the most common type of arthritis. It is characterized by chronic pain and inflammation of the joints most often in the hands, knees , ankles, and feet. In severe cases deformity has been noted. Fever, weakness, muscle pain and stiffness are also common symptoms that are associated with rheumatoid arthritis.
Gouty arthritis is a type of condition that is most often found in older indiviuals. The feature of this disorder are pain ,stiffness, nodules , and usually the great toe is affected with pain and stiffness. The nodules may appear and disappear under the skin in some cases. These tend to apper in various sizes around the elbow, wrist, fingers and at times the ankles.
Oseteoarthritis or degenrative arthritis is usually found in older people , forty five and older. The symptoms of this form of arthritis are pain,disability due to the wearing away of cartilage within the joints. The knees, back, and neck are the most common areas involved. Swelling tends to common in the fingers joints,but nodules are not found under the skin. Oseteoarthritis does not usually cause the deformity of joints that is associated with rhematoid arthritis. Individuals with these symptoms should consult a doctor .

Description of Arthritis

Arthritis is a condition of the inflammation of the joints. Arthritis can exist in many forms. In this condition various joints are affected. Arthritis can affect both old and young; however most individuals with this affliction are usually older people. The cause of arthritis can not be labelled as one particular thing; therefore it is sometimes labelled as unknown. We now
believe that there are several things that can trigger arthritis these include infections, degenration of joint tissue, deposits of uric acid, cold,injury and etc.
